Biography
TRANSWESTERN ROLE
Clark Dean is the founder of the company’s Transaction Sciences Group, which operates across asset classes and service lines, and helps direct Transwestern’s Tenant Representation & Workplace Solutions business. Clark is a member of Transwestern’s Board of Directors and its National Tenant Representation and Workplace Solutions Steering Committee. He also helps lead the company’s global partnerships with BNP Paribas Real Estate and Encor Avisors.
CAREER HIGHLIGHTS
With a background in biomedical engineering, management consulting, and financial structuring, Clark is known for being a disruptive innovator. His Transaction Sciences Group helps build businesses, grow non-profits, and enrich communities by structuring solutions for real estate occupiers and investors. Over the past decade his group has provided clients with integrated management consulting, corporate finance, and real estate services resulting in hundreds of transactions across the country and around the world. In 2021 Clark was recognized as the company’s number one producer. Prior to joining Transwestern, Clark was a founding principal of Studley’s Corporate Services Group where he spent over a decade working on some of the firm’s largest and most complex assignments. Before that, Clark was a management consultant and later chief operating officer for a management consulting firm specializing in strategic and operational consulting.
PROFESSIONAL AFFILIATION / RECOGNITION
Clark is a past President and Chairman of the Rotary Club of Atlanta where he received the Armin Maier Community Service Award, Bert Adams International Service Award, and the Fred Hoyt Hospitality Award. He is an Eagle Scout, an active member of the Harvard Clubs of Georgia, New York City, and Boston, an ordained Deacon in the Baptist Church, a former coach for youth football (PeeWee Coach of the Year 2008), and a frequent contributor to the Atlanta Business Chronicle. He serves on numerous boards including, Shepherd Center (Chair-elect), YMCA of Metro Atlanta (Chair), Café Momentum Atlanta (Inaugural Chair), The Metro Atlanta Chamber, The Atlanta Opera, and The Veritas School of Social Sciences. He currently Chairs the Board of Councilors for The Carter Center and is the former Chairman of the Advisory Board for the Chick-fil-A Foundation. He also served Covenant House Georgia for over a decade as board member and secretary. He is a member of the 2012 Class of Leadership Atlanta and was recognized by the Atlanta Business Chronicle in its “40 Under 40” list in 2005 and by Georgia Trend in its list of 500 Most Influential Leaders in 2024.
EDUCATION
Clark graduated cum laude with an A.B. in Engineering and Biological Sciences from Harvard University, where he played varsity football, served as a class officer, and delivered the Harvard College oration as a graduating senior. He furthered his professional development through executive education at Harvard Business School, where he completed the Real Estate Management Program: Developing Future Leaders and Distressed Real Estate: Examining Debt and Equity Structures to Mitigate Losses and Identify Opportunities.
