Katie Steele

As a Senior Vice President on Transwestern’s Downtown Chicago Agency Leasing team, Katie brings over 22 years of commercial real estate experience, advising owners on how to strategically position and maximize the value of their office assets. Her background spans a wide range of property types—from premier Class A towers in the Loop to mixed-use, medical, and loft buildings throughout River North and beyond.

Katie’s broad portfolio has allowed her to develop a tailored approach to leasing strategy, asset repositioning, and marketing—ensuring each building’s unique value is clearly articulated and effectively brought to market. She is known for creative, results-driven solutions that resonate with both institutional and entrepreneurial clients.

Katie has represented an array of leading owners and investment firms, including Shorenstein, BentallGreenOak, FD Stonewater, Metropolis Investment, Manulife Investment Management, LG Development, Fortress Investments, UBS Realty Investors, Sumitomo Corporation of America, Principal Real Estate Investors, LNR, Acentis Real Estate Partners, and Condor Partners.

Prior to joining Transwestern in 2013, Katie served as Vice President of U.S. Equities’ asset management group, where she led the leasing efforts for 515 North State, 737 North Michigan Avenue, 939 North Avenue, 676 North Michigan, and 150 East Huron. Katie was successful in keeping the majority of her 1.3 million square foot portfolio at upwards of 90% occupancy and played a key role in multiple building renovations. Additionally, she was involved in creating strategic, effective marketing campaigns for each property.

Her current leasing assignments in the Chicago CBD and surrounding neighborhoods include NBC Tower, 191 N Wacker, 625 W Adams, 10 S LaSalle, and 680 N Lake Shore Drive.

Katie received her bachelor’s degree from the University of Colorado in Boulder. She is a licensed real estate broker in the State of Illinois.
