Howard Kaplan

As Senior Vice President of Accounting at Transwestern, Howie is responsible for directing and leading the Accounting Division of Transwestern, including the oversight of all the accounting offices nationwide. Howie brings over 25 years of experience in property management accounting roles.

Howie has a deep background in financial reporting, audit and compliance, forecasting, internal controls, budget management, variance analysis, outsourcing service, treasury management, payroll, and most significantly, process improvement. Howie has always been part of successful accounting teams and started his career in multifamily property management with Equity Residential. Howie then moved into the commercial space, in a long tenured career at CBRE as Senior Controller, where he expanded his leadership skills and management of large accounting teams. Howie’s recent venture was at Mack Property Management as Vice President of Accounting, where he worked on a combination of multifamily, commercial, and development, while handling the corporate functions. Howie has a strong understanding of commercial real estate necessary to deliver exceptional results for institutional clients. During his career he has serviced several key clients, including AEW, UBS, NY Life, Hudson Americas, Tishman Speyers, A&B Properties, amongst many others.

Howie has earned his bachelor’s degree in accounting from Arizona State University.
